Hi guys,
I've had a 6778lx for a while and finally got around to buying a hard case for it. I bought an 8158 case for it but the case is too deep. It says its for medium/deep depth O's. My question is how in the world can you possibly use this case with a medium depth bowl as it states? I can shake the 6778 around inside this thing! What case fits the 6778 perfectly?.

Thanks,
John

Did you buy the case new or used? If you bought it used, someone likely used it for a Deep Bowl already as my experience has been that Ovation cases are a pretty tight fit.

Thanks for the reply...I bought it "slightly used" from a music store on ebay. The case looked new to me but it may have been used I guess. I also have an orange flame O and that case fits good but it is a different style case, it has the bout contours in it whereas the 8158 does not.

I've upgraded your membership to post in the general section and moved this post there as well. "Slightly Used" from a music store may mean they stored a guitar in it, or delivered a guitar in it, or someone bought a guitar and didn't want the case... but in any event, if it had a larger guitar in it for any amount of time, that would be all it takes. As far as I know there are only basically two sizes of cases and mainly divided between shallow and mid/deep, regular and deluxe. The older guitars has a deeper bowl, but I think it's the same case. Someone else probably has more info on this.

When I got my Adamas I got the deep case and my Adamas was mid-bowl. There's not a mid-bowl case. In 7 years it's been in the case it came with and it's fine.

if you bought the case on e-bay make sure that you check the spelling on the brand of the case. it should spell ovation , not oration . those overseas copy cats are good . GWB
