So I looked and thought about it, and I actually have the money for it....
But I decided NO!

Sweet T for $550 BIN or y'all could bid on it. ONE DAY listing.

Anybody recognize this?

It's an OFC'r... It has a Woody TRC!

Somebody here better get this, cuz I just passed on bidding on it to keep the BIN for y'all.
If it stay cheap until tomorrow I still might... But I thought someone here might like it.

I just dug-out my Sweetie and it plays NICE.
Brad (Slipkid) sent it back to Mother for a neck reset before I got it, so it is Perfect.
So... Somebody grab this! Or I will and then sell it to you next year.
No shytski... If this sucker is still up tomorrow...
Really somebody get this... They won't be making these again neither.

Look at the photo showing the bass side of the bridge... if the saddle gets any lower, the strings will be riding on the front of the bridge. There are no side-shots of the neck showing the strings in relation to the fretboard. I would ask a couple questions before pulling the trigger.

Yeah, I kinda saw that the saddle was quite low.

But three bolts and you can reset the neck.

Not only do you get a Sweet-T... But you get to try-out for the BFLG!

Thanks for the tip OMA. I've turned down a lot of T's over the past couple years waiting for a Sweet T I could afford. Now all I need from you is a tip helping me explain to my wife, why I needed to but this without discussing it before hand.

OMA:
Do these guitars have a mid depth or deep body? You'd think I'd look into that detail before buying it. Still, I've heard so many good things about them...and the price was right, I had to pull the trigger.

You haven't gotten that yet?

Yup that is a Contour bowl.
Contour bowls are a Love-em or Hate-em thing.
That is why some of them Sweeties changed hands.

OT----- Hey OMA... Heading to Portland this weekend.. I will be downtown, where is good to go? Cheers!

It is Portland... Saturday Market, Buskers, Bucket-drummers and handmade crafts. Bicycles, Food Carts, ALL of the women have Tattoos.
All of the Festivals seem to be over.
I don't go to bars or clubs, But there are a bunch here. Pearl District has Brew Pubs.
The rain will be starting this weekend, so Perfect Timing. It hasn't rained here since July 1st.

Bob Dylan will be here Monday.

Hey OMA. I must not have asked my question correctly. I know the Sweet T's have the Contoured Body. My question is this: Are they MID DEPTH like the 1778T or do they have a DEEP Contour Body?

I'll be sure to let eveyone know how I feel about the Contour Body. Looking forward to it.

I think there is only one depth of contour bowl.

DVD is correct (of course). A contour bowl is just a contour bowl.
Marketing people add adjectives, but there is only one size contour bowl.
And it is Deep.

My first experience with the Contour bowl was weird.
If you are used to a roundback, there is a learning process with the Contour Bowl.
There is a "reach over" factor to it, that is not there with a roundback.
But the contour bowl did teach me to hold my other Ovations correctly.

Thanks OMA and David. Does Ovation make a non-cut version of the Contour body? At any rate, this should be a very cool guitar and it's supposed to arrive tomorrow....wooohooo!

Wow. This guitar is really beautiful. I thought the photos looked nice, but in real life, it's fantastically cool. And for a painted cut-away, I was impressed the tone is so nice. Why doesn't the paint hurt the tone? Or would it be even better without the paint?

OK....moving on. The low Saddle in the Bridge, however, is a real issue for this guitar. I have already taken it to the my top local Luthier. The action is so high it is almost unplayable as-is. And there are no shims to remove. The Saddle is already in it's lowest position. And that's probably why the previous owner sold it. Still, I'm hopeful I'll have a fantastic guitar in a couple days. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Jim, the textured paint used on the elite-T tops is apparently lighter than traditional finishes. See also: 1235-5 Eclipses.
