Sorry I don't have any good pictures, but will try and find some and email to interested parties. This is a black, contour bowl with OpPro electronics package. Some fine pick scratches are only issue. New EP16's, OHC and case candy go with it. $750 offer plus your choice of shipping. I am dropping down to only one AE and the 2008C isn't going anywhere soon. I don't get on the site as much as I used to so please email me at jeffreyrdavis.....................at.......................yahoo. Thanks.

So after 81 folks have looked...is this too much money for this guitar? It really sounds nice. Not quite up to the 2008C, but very very nice. Maybe they aren't as popular of a model, but I thought the inlaid epulets were very cool

Not trying to be the Price Police... But I will answer your question.

I have sold two of these, a -4 and a -5... a Natural and a Black.
I got less than $600 for each of them after shipping and all that.

Yeah... I was disappointed too.
The true USA 2778LX's were made for about a year before manufacture was moved overseas.
So you figure that the rarity would make them desirable.
And they were one of the few USA Contour-bowl Elite models.
I loved mine, but I have the Sweet T, and the Painted T, both contour bowls,
so I reluctantly sold my 2778LX's.

Those are Nice guitars... Good Luck with the sale.

(I imagine that yours looks about like this)

Thanks for the input. You have it pegged exactly. I was thinking they were somewhat of a rarity as I haven't found many that aren't designated AX. But as you say (and with many Ovations and Adamas), that rarity does not equate to higher price.

I will re-think my price along the lines you mention...I guess if I could get $600 plus shipping I would be ok with it, but not ready to drop below $600 yet.

It's been a great guitar for the last couple of years, but I just don't play it much.

Intrinsically the guitar is worth every penny of your asking price. The used market has been severely depressed for about 3 years now, which is good for buyers but bad for sellers. It appears that the prices on eBay are creeping up recently, so perhaps better days are ahead for sellers. I would suggest you figure out how much it is worth for you to keep it vs how badly you want to be rid of it. Set a price based on what you can be comfortable with and ask that. If it doesn't sell, keep it. I have kept a 6778LX-VN which I wanted to sell because the market was too low. It doesn't get played a whole lot, but it is a different flavor of O than the others I have and it would have hurt too much to let it go for what the market would bring at the time.
