And some Rocking *** guitars no one had ever heard. I looked up a lot of u tube videos and there is one for Amanda that is real dark and blueish. At the start of the chorus they camera pans to the acoustic and it looks like it has a rounded headstock but the image is too quick and dark.

To me, their stuff IS NOT timeless. That's not meant to be a bad statement. What I mean is their music always seems to bring me back to a time or place from back in the day. More Than A Feelin', Don't Look Back, Amanda, etc., they all tend to have the same effect on me. Every time I hear "Cool The Engines", it brings me back to the mid-80's, the jukebox at Round Table Pizza on Blanding Ave in Alameda, CA... I was 21, managing the family owned franchise, one of the busiest stores of all time for the chain. One of the managing partners' sons had a bit of a substance abuse problem (it was the 80's you know). and after too much booze and other things had become quite rowdy. This was back in the days when it was more of a bar atmosphere at night than a family place. We had a sit down bar... now it's a salad bar. Anyway, "Cool the Engines" came on the jukebox, and Danny had his equally inebriated friend go behind the counter to turn it up to 10. Well, that's pretty loud, and the customers complained, so being in charge of the restaurant that night, I made the call to turn it back down. Danny sent his minion over again to turn it up and I stopped him cold saying it needed to stay at the volume I had it at, I don't care who told him to do it. Next thing I know, Danny, a martial arts black belt, was flying over the bar coming right at me. Lucky for me his reflexes were slow with all the booze and drugs coursing through his veins and I managed to get a shot in that took him to the floor quick. I quickly got him into a headlock and started to tag him in the eye. Funny thing was (if there could be a funny thing about this) is that I found myself throwing the punches in perfect time to the beat of the song. I subdued him and actually ended up having to have the police come and remove him from the establishment. After he sobered up and cooled down we made good. Just one of those songs.

So can we assume that in 1980-6 in the tracks recorded in Boston III we hear an Adamas? I would not make this assumption. Studio and live and photo-ops are three separate subjects. I'd say it's a 50/50 chance and the only way to really know is to ask him if he remembers. I would not be surprised if he used one of his Ovations on the albums, but then again, I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't either. It is mentioned in some articles over the years that he has an Ovation 12 String Electric in his collection. He does not have the double-neck anymore (unless he bought it back from who he sold it to) and he may have an Acoustic although it's also been documented he has Guild acoustics. Bottom line, they are planning a small tour. I'd try to ask him, that's the best way to find out for sure.

Yeah, that would be great...I made this assumption because when I play that song on my Custom Legend it sounds close to the original version than on my Guild Jf-30-12 which tends to sound more middy and with less treble than an Adamas.
