Sincerely,- The YouTube Team In the last couple of weeks, I've been getting notices these notices in regards to the songs I've covered on youtube. I have a whole list of tunes now that "Matched 3rd party content", so I clicked to see what that meant, and got this:Copyright Info: Man who sold the world Your video, Man who sold the world , may include content that is owned or administered by this entity: •Entity: Music Publishing Rights Collecting Society Content Type: Musical Composition What should I do? No action is required on your part. Your video is still available worldwide. In some cases ads may appear next to your video. I don't think there's more than a couple of hits on any. I wonder what she did to cause these? None of my older ones have been tagged like this.

There must be a database of song titles that the copyright holders have provided the online sites, and so they are notifying you that they have a claim against your content. I think they do it so if something hits big, they can get the mechanicals due on it (i.e. if you put out a CD, you have to pay for the rights to use a cover song ... they want the same protection on playing them on YouTube etal). They'll also claim from the advertising revenue you produce if you're doing that. It should be about the songwriters getting their just due ... although in the end it's probably the lawyers at the publishing houses that make the real money in the whole deal. But as the original songwriter, many of whom are struggling financially these days, you want to be compensated for your work. Nothing has come from any of the notices I received and AFAIK all the songs I've posted are still up there. But I'm pretty sure if I all of a sudden generated a million hits and the advertising money started rolling in, they'd be in for a piece of the action. As they should rightfully be IMO.

Usually I'm posting to Hand Shaved Noodles or Chasen Chantz channels. This channel is what I was using to break into singing and playing. Testing the waters really. It has my first YT appearance with the UKII singin Ozzy, plus a bunch of acoustic solo stuff. Mostly Ovations were used including a 1537, 2080, Elite LX, 12 string Custom Elite, Thunderbolt 'Snake', and probably some others. http://www.youtube.com/user/damont67

In some cases, Your video may be blocked in some countries. You can always post your videos on Vimeo. It's very reliable. Best regards
