A co-worker is looking t'take beginner guitar lessons.

I recommended WL, he did the preview, liked it but wanted t'know how well they cater to "beginners", & that I didn't know . . .

Any reviews/opinions by anyone here who's taken (or had a friend/child take) "beginner" guitar lessons??

TIA.

I would be interested in this myself. I would like to start working on theory and scales, but do not have the time for "face to face" lessons.

I've looked through the the range of lessons for guitar- and when they say beginner... they mean- "Beginner".

The most important thing would be choosing the teacher and the lesson progression that works best for you.

I've done some of the beginner lessons. They aren't over the head of any beginner. They are short and simple. With WL, the problem is with failing to log on and take lessons. I think many of us who use it get lax sometimes. A subscriber should set a time, just like going to a lesson, and use a notebook to jot down the content of each lesson, IMHO. And take Matt's chop shop lessons that are there, to learn the proper way to practice.

Also, I thought that THESE LESSONS for beginners at about.com were good.

And of course, there's guitarnoise.com and justinguitar.com and youtube and...
