I think that the OP-30 is more versatile than the OP-Pro, with the OP-30's mid-shift, pre-shape, and eq-out buttons. I understand that the OP-Pro was designed by Al Dimeola and is supposed to be a better system. I was hoping for other people's comments. Also, maybe someone could tell me if I am missing something. Like, am I not using it correctly?

I think the best multi function/adjustment amp they ever made was the Optima. That being said, I think less is better. The older stacked tone/volume are my favorite or even the FD type with no adjustments. having a built in tuner is nice, but I really don't think they are that accurate.

I like the OP24 and as "The Ol' Trader" has said the stacked Tone/Volume are great. I haven't tried a two knobber though. Are they much different the the stacked control?

I like the OP-50 OP-Pro and Optima about equally. I really like volume only fet3 in the Pacemaker.

I replaced that preamp with the newer stacked vol/tone preamp, sounds pretty good. My new 1717 has the OP40 and it took a lot of tweakin by trial and error but I managed to get it to sound real good. Not so sure if more is better with my limited knowledge of eq-ing etc.

I've had Optimas before and I really liked them, but I like the larger volume control on the OpPro. I also rarely have feedback trouble with the OpPros even though they don't have a notch filter. OpPro gets my vote. The gain problem is not an issue for me since it runs through the board anyway. It's either all the way up or all the way down if I'm tuning. I guess I really use the volume knob as an on/off switch. John <>{

Maybe I need to play with it some more, but at church I have just been plugging the guitar into my chorus pedal and bypassing the OP Pro because it sounds better (imho). Not very impressed at the moment with the OP Pro. The guitar sounds great otherwise.

I think remember right when I say; It was suggested by some of the guy's, who know their electronic's very well, to go with the Studio. I can't wait to hear the new sound.

I have to run it through a processor so that I can "tune on the fly" when playing live, which is most of the time. Had the Optima on my old CL, and it was solid, too. But the OP-Pro on my 05 Colletor's is the best of the bunch. Much more oomph, the pre-shape is terrific, as is the big volume knob, the tuner is easy to read on a dark stage, and I have not had any feedback problems whatsoever.
