Where there any ASW besides the SSBs (5858/5868)?

There were the N858 and N868. Built for Japan I think.

Naw, just love the ASW and prefer deeper bowls; just fishin'...

Any further word on the USPS 'victim' yet? I talked with TJ early in the week...

As of yesterday, TJ's word was still the most up-to-date. I'll check again this week. I don't know if they're paying attention, but their "30 days to process the claim" runs out on June 8th.

Keep your fingers crossed.

There was a limited edition run of some guitars made with very rare walnut - Russian if memory serves. Some special case candy too. Not sure about the bowl depth but search the archives if you can ... there's a thread out there someplace. I think they may have been solid too ... not lam like these. Maybe someone else remembers more.

OK. I didn;t have much luck with the archives, although there is a post in the 2002 time frame where someone who had the guitar posted. But thanks to Jerome, here is some information: Mars Russian Guitar . Go down to the bottom and read the letter that came with it. Unfortunately, I cannot discern what bowl was on the guitar.

I recall there being another thread or two about these, but I can't find them. I also remember seeing one or two hit eBay at some point, including one person with all of the goodies (sans the caviar) inlcuding the letter. It caused a big enough stir to stick in my mind for these years. Very nice looking burled walnut.

Hello people of the OFC,

I just posted some pictures of my Russian Walnut Ltd. guitar.
http://ovationfanclub.ning.com/profile/nibblegribitz
Pictures are out of sequence. Description is the individual photos, starting with number 1.
The inside picture is from another site.
Mine looks identical, but I couldn't get a good picture.
It's truly a beautiful guitar, a bit hefty in weight.

nibble,

As you can see by my above response, I'm captivated by that model! What a work of woodworking and luthier art...

Would ya give us an evaluation of this beaut?

I posted some pictures of the inside of my "Czar Guitar" at http://ovationfanclub.ning.com/profile/nibblegribitz
I wasn't sure if it was solid or laminate, but you can see the burl through whatever kind of mesh they use.
