Not a roundback, but here's some photos of a very cool guitar. A new 2008 model from Takamine called the TF430 Singer/Songwriter. NEX body size, non-cutaway, CoolTube-2 preamp, all solid top/back/sides. It plays and sounds great. NEX body size is about half way between an OM and a Dread. Lots more info about this one over on the Tak forum.

Very nice indeed!

I really like those cool tube pre-amps. Wouldn't mind owning one. Those beautiful pics don't make the buying pains any easier.

Nice guitar. I like the burst and the way the bound headstock looks. Can you get it without the corny office poster tagline?

Looks really nice, congrats. That's the one you were all hot for at NAMM, right?

Yeah, saw it at NAMM but couldn't really tell how it sounded. But it seemed to have alll the right ingredients and felt just perfect in my hands. Al's price was too good to pass up, so I bought it on "faith". The end result exceeded my expectations.

Didn't that color used to be called "root beer"?

Root beer would be a good name. I think Takamine calls it "Violin Sunburst".

Say, Dave, that 430 looks surprisingly similar to that stray Collings that followed you home last week.

I have no idea what the nutwidth is. Tak doesn't get hung up on measurements. Their theory is just pick it up and play it. If it feels good to you, you'll know it. Numbers should not cloud your judgeement. Out of curiousity I did put my digital caliper on it and took a measurement. The display just read "PERFECT".

I know. I didn't plan it that way, but I'm a sucker for a good sunburst. Ovation, Takamine and Collings do the best. Dave

I only picked up a t-shirt at AI.

I "might" have bought myself a welcome home present once I got back to Phoenix.

Just read the description....deep bowl C-10....nice!

I really like the looks of that Tak SS.

Al needs a Theta so we can do a little horse trading.

Looking forward to the full blown review at the Tak site.
