But if you were to mention the sound of Ovation guitars, which actually have wood in them, people react as if you have fallen out of your tree or something. Michelle

Any hybrid is "not a real guitar". Adamas is OK though. Go figure. **climbs off his soapbox and disappears into the crowd**

If epoxy is used in either construction heat will break it down. The faster the cure rate the faster it will break down. I own a wood shop and we are very careful about our climate control, wood just moves too much. If we have to break an epoxy joint we just heat it up.

The group over there in general is more biased that a lot of guitar forums primarily because of the way they are moderated. Al and Miles keep this forum in check and it definitely provides a fun and more relaxed atmosphere. I find the AGF a fun and interesting read most of the time but rarely post.

That guitar had a warped neck, although I didn't realize it when I bought it. Michelle

There is no question that they're exposed to some pretty extreme heat in around those engines, brake rotors and calipers, and exhaust systems.

I have seen enough Celebrity's on evilBay with finish cracks. (And now that I think about it, I think that my long-gone CC255 had a little one) Also, I'm sure too much moisture will cause them to swell then 'delaminate' and peel. Too much heat can loosen the epoxy on the dove-tail neck-joint of Celebrity's. That is how Eliot Meldoy told me to take-apart a CS257. The binding on my Academy has seen better days, I don't know What someone did to that! You can destroy any guitar if you try hard enough.
