Lynyrd Skynyrd bassist Ean Evans died yesterday from a fast moving form of Cancer. He replaced Leon Wilkeson in 2002...RIP

The Band is hard on everyone...in one of the posts on their site it refers to the band as the Ghost Ship of Rock and Roll...always at sea and never at port...Great band live from the three times I have seen them...Once pre-plane crash in '76, once in Nashville in '90, and the last time in Johnson City in '99 opening for ZZTop...they absolutely smoked the lil ol Band from Texas...and I really like ZZTop...but Skynyrd was absolutely killa that night!

Saw them open for Marshall Tucker Band and headliner Joe Walsh back when their first album had come out.

Same effect.....after Skynyrd left the stage MTB and Joe Walsh were boring boring boring.

Saw them here in Nashville at Volunteer Jam 5. (ticket price $5.00) The first time they performed after the crash. One of the greatest moments in rock and roll history.
If you dont know the story the last number was an instramental verson of Freebird, the guy running the spot lights lit a empty mic on stage and killed all the other lights execpt the 10,000 bic lighters in the stands. It was magic. Charlie Daniels will tell you that it was a completely unscripted moment.
