I had a few minutes, so I dropped it into open-D and recorded The Water Is Wide. You can tell I'm a little stuffy today, but I still like the arrangement. This piece sounds nice on any guitar, 6-string, 12-er, nylon, you name it. Patch\'s Page It's one of my very favorite folk pieces. Feedback is always welcome of course.

I never imagined a guitar part with this particular "clave" or pattern: I think it works quite well. Bravo! I also picked up some new chords for the tune, should I break out the O for accompaniment.

I didn't know there was another open-D version out there. I made up this arrangement for some friends about 6 or 7 years ago. Just goes to show there's no such thing as a completely original thought anymore I guess. I've played this open-d version for awhile...
