Location: Louisville, OH 44641 | Anyone know how to adjust the LX Truss Rods? I want to adjust the Neck on my 07 Collectors towards the back of the Guitar. Currently, my action is much too high at the 12th fret. As I opened up the man hole cover, I found 2 Socket Head Cap adjustment screws!? Yikes. What is this...some kind of metric conversion conspiracy? |

Location: Scotland | Adjusting the rod won't make any discernable difference at the 12th fret, and could cause problems in the lower positions if it is adjusted correctly now. You need to remove shims at the bridge. The purpose of a truss rod is to control neck relief, not raise or lower the action. For every 1mm lower at the 12th you need to lower the bridge by 2mm. To check if the rod is adjusted properly put a capo at the first fret and fret the 6th string at the 14th. Then check the clearance at the 5th. If there's a big gap tighten the rod. If there's just a little clearance leave it alone. |
