I also used the search feature and did not see any information on this.
I have a 2771LX which sounds and plays great
My son who plays more than I do thinks it plays great as well. I just got this the other day and noticed that there is a small amount of clearance" air gap" where the end of the neck meets the body near the sound hole. I would guess that this clearance is about 1/32 of an inch by eye. I am wondering if this is normal on this model with the natural tension of the strings wanting to pull the neck up off of the body.
there are 2 shims removed from under the saddle and it still feels tight to both him and I while pressing the strings down. I am new to ovations and I had another one here a few days ago which was hard to push as well with all the shims installed. I did not notice if there was a a gap at the neck to body. This also has Zebra medium strings on it according to the seller. It was sold to me as slightly used and listed as new on ebay |

Location: Upper Left USA | Since its an LX the neck is a bolt on and the end of the Fretboard will extend over the mating socket. This will look like a gap from the ends but it is not a problem - as long as we are talking credit card size.
Take some pictures and we can understand better. |

yeah it's a very small gap maybe a credit card size
how would I post a picture from my computer?
Thanks for the offer Anita it looks like you have quite a few guitars. Have you found any dealers in the MD area that sell and are educated in USA made Ovations? |

Location: Reisterstown, Maryland | There are a few dealers around but they're the big chains and don't sell the american made O's unless they get them in trade. I just haunt place on weekends and deal if I find one I like and want. Ss far That system has served me well and then finding these guys and gals. They are a wealth of information.
