I admit I am more versed on USA Hamer info than USA Ovation info, so I figured I'd pose the question here. On Hamers, a Jim O' Connor custom airbrushed snakeskin finish is somewhat rare. How rare would an O' Connor blue snakeskin finish be on a 1989 USA Ovation model? Does anyone have an idea of total production of snakeskin finished USA Ovations? I would think it would be somewhat rare on USA Ovations as well, but I could be wrong.

Real rare. They were done on Thunderbolts, and only for a very short time. There are some around but you hardly ever see them. Adding blue to the mix probably makes it nearly a one of a kind. If you've got a line on one you might want to grab it. If you have a line on one and don't want to grab it, let me know please.

Between growing up in the late 80's and being a devout USA Hamer player/collector I've always admired Jim O' Connor's airbrush work. I walked into my local guitar shop last night and my eye immediately was caught by this 1863 sandwiched between a wall of Taylors and Martins. Needless to say I had to bring it home ;)

To some it may be a candidate for the Ugliest Ovation award, but to me it's a stunning piece of 80's guitar art (not to mention a real nice USA Ovation Classical guitar) that shall be displayed as well as played:

Did quite a few blues, red and yellow, snake skins and dragon skins. Maybe a total of 100 all up, maybe less.

I guess I need to get out more. :( And I admit this is the first one I've seen that wasn't a Thunderbolt. But a classical? Wow. I'll be a monkey's uncle.

first one of them I've seen too. Thought they were all T-Bolts.

I've never seen one that wasn't a T-bolt either.

That has to be the rarest of the rare!
