my celebrity only stay amplified for as long as the tuner is on... does any one know why that is???? thanks

Hi (and welcome). This seems bizarre. A lot of the preamps are designed to turn off when the tuner is on (so you can tune without annoying the audience). Are you sure that's not what's happening?

Otherwise, I'm stumped.

thanks well when i plug in the guitar doesnt amplify until i press the tuning button and stays amplified until the tuner turns off

Alex,

Another guess is that the switch inside the socket you plug into isn't working. (When you plug in, it should turn the guitar on). By pushing the tuner button you are manually turning it on, but only for as long as the tuner function stays on.

If you can get at it, you may be able to bend one of the prongs so that the switch works, otherwise you may need to replace the socket - electronics stores will sell these, though you'll need some basic soldering skills.
