I just beginning. Will a better guitar like the Custom Legend be easier to play and learn on then say the Standard Balladeer.

No, not really. The difference is primarily in the bling. You will find Legends that have better playability than Balladeers, and visa versa.

Ovation is the perfect choice for a beginner because their playibility, when compared to other brands within a particular price range, is generaly superior.
Even above and beyond that, Ovation's built in tuners are a beginners best friend.

And why are you on the board today??? There is a big-time gathering goin' on in Jersey as we type.

Welcome. My first guitar was a legend. I think that the better the guitar you buy, the more committed you are to practice, but also the better guitar invites you to play more and rewards you more.

Of the two the Custom Legend will sound slightly better. Playability is about the same.
The Custom Legend is a work of art.
Personally I have both.
