Location: GATLINBURG TENNESSEE :) | If I had the time I would call the mothership or research online, but I don't. So I'm gonna' take the lazy-man's way and post the question here so others can benefit also ...
On my 1619 Custom Legend I had spa'd at the mothership (New top, bowl, and Electronics) I've noticed the A and E strings are producing fret buzz on the 3rd through 6th frets. The guitar is set up very low (which I DO like), but I don't know whether this calls for a truss rod adjustment or a new, higher nut? or a return trip for a fret fix? (The neck was the only thing left from the original guitar)
Suggestions? Help? I know ... I could call John or Kim, but I don't want to bother them if I don't have to.

Location: Michigan | Are they buzzing when you fret at the 3-6 fret or do you think the string is hitting the 3-6 fret when you play open? If it is buzzing when you fret at 3-6 I would think you might have to adjust the truss rod a smitch. I could be wrong though. If it is buzzing while fretting 3-6 changing the nut wont make a difference as you take that out of the equation when you fret...I think.
My guitar guy has a nifty little straight edge with cutouts for the frets that he sets on the fretboard. He likes to see just a very little bit of "relief" as he calls it. I am talking about .010 or less. Just enough to see light through. |

| sounds like it just needs a little relief... did you switch to lighter gauge strings recently?
any major humidity changes?
loosen the TR 1/4 turn, take 2 aspirin, and play it in the morning...

Location: GATLINBURG TENNESSEE :) | Yeah ... it buzzez only when I fret those areas and only on those two strings. I guess I would expect it to do that more on the bass strings because they are thicker, but to buzz on that side only ... well it's just a bit confusing for me. Everything else is great! |

Location: GATLINBURG TENNESSEE :) | Yeah Glenn ... I think I did switch to lights because I didn't have any more mediums on hand at the time. I also have been storing it in the basement where there is more humidity. |

Location: Utah | Yeah it sounds like a little truss rod tweak should fix the problem. It is possible that there is a high fret that needs filing, but it is easy to loosen the truss rod a little and see if the problem goes away. |

Location: Brisbane Australia | Put a capo between the nut and the first fret.
Look straight across the fretboard into a light source and slowly fret the string at the top fret, looking to see which fret it touches first or closest to.
It is important that the guitar is in the playing position not laying on it's back.
