Location: New Hampshire | So those two guitar models are the ones I'm looking at getting but can't decide which is the better one, now from price point the 6868AX is better but they both have AA solid spruce tops, I'm leaning towards the 6868AX but wanted to know if anyone has played both and what their thoughts are on each. |

Location: London, UK | The 6868AX is an SSB whereas the 1778T is mid-depth, isn't it?
So, looks aside, you'll need to test these for
- the depth/projection of sound you want
- the way it sits/feels when you play it |

Location: New Hampshire | Yes the 6868AX is Super Shallow body which I have a ovation with the SSB and I like how it feels when I play it, I did try the 1778TX at guitar center and the mid-depth was Ok I could get used to it if I played it often. |

Location: Brighty in Blighty | Are you planning on playing it acoustically or plugged in?
Acoustically the SSB will not project as much as a medium bowl.
The only wood top SSBs I would consider would be the '84 Collector or 5868 Walnut. Then there's the 1881 :) |

Location: Brighty in Blighty | I started out with a SSB and loved it but having tried mid and deep (and contour) bowls it leaves the SSB dead in the water acoustically.
Having said that I want another SSB (1881) as they are very comfortable and great for the sofa/tv watching whilst lying down ;) |

Location: New Hampshire | Yeah I'm leaning towards the 1778TX now after playing with it down at the guitar place it sounded awesome and after seeing so many great reviews for it that's going to be my next guitar in a month or two. |

Location: New Hampshire | I actually was looking at that model as well, if you still have it close to September I'll probably grab it from ya. |
