aloha folks,
about three weeks ago i started discovering the open C tuning, which was passed on from the legendary gabby pahinui. i posted my first adventure in this tuning a while ago. it's a work in progress, as most of my stuff is, but i've got a good start on it, methinks. you can listen to it from the main page of social network site.

mahalos!

thanks, all.
one no-brainer thing about alternate tunings: strings don't last as long if they are constantly changing in tension. this open C is especially hard on the D and B strings which are tuned up to E and C respectively. brand new strings make the stretch just fine but after playing in open C and then re-tuning and de-tuning a few times, strings snap easily. the best scenario would be to have several guitars, one for each tuning. one day, perhaps.

Randy,
I know I've said it before I love your music. Please keep it up.
