Location: big island | barry flanagan is not your typical slack key musician. he takes the genre to another level. his instruments take a lickin' and keep on pickin' too. barry is 1/2 of the group called "hapa", which means "half". since he is caucasian, his duo partner, currently nathan aweau, is of hawaiian ancestry. i hope you enjoy this flavor of our local music. |

Location: big island | i've not seen barry use a loop for his guitar work. other effects, such as delay, he makes the most of. he generally has live bass accompaniment (nathan) and a drum machine, sometimes a rhythm guitarist. |
