Welcome.
You have an old Ultra Deep Bowl. I had one of them for awhile. I liked it. And the guy who has it now likes it.

Here\'s the specs from the Ovation Website.

Good Ovation to start out with... And if it is in good condition, that is a good deal.
Please be warned... They are like Lay's Potato Chips! :p

Welcome!

"neighbor of my mother's in..." in where?

As for your Ultra, I hope you find someone here who knows, but our attention seems to gravitate toward US-made Ovations. Unfortunately, one day soon that won't require as much of our attention since a lot of models are being "outsourced to their Pacific Rim Subsidiary".

Your guitar likely has a solid spruce top, so it's a decent guitar. For $175 I think you got a great player. Ser.# doesn't mean anything on imported O's.

bauerhillboy. sent message out before I had finished. Bill Kaman and family lived across the street from my mother in Morganton when Ovation was manf, in Marion ,NC. Is there a way to tdentify those made in Marion?
Does any one have Bill's e-male? He is a very accomplished guitarist in his own right. Only got to go over a couple of times and hear him playand really enjoyed it. He had several great ovations in his music room. Thanks for the help.

He may have sold the station, but he's still pumpin' GAS.

BTW, welcome to the board.
