Location: Blue Ridge Mountains | The Saga of the Book Elite's trip to OZ is one step closer to reality today with it's arrival in Ohio at Jack/Kotadawg's and it is being hand carried to OZ on Sunday. The reason for the post is to remind those who use USPS Priority Mail and purchase insurance to:
KEEP YOUR RECEIPT!!!
I sent this a week ago Wednesday (the 1st) and it just arrived today...Go Figure!
I had emailed Jack the tracking number (from the insurance receipt) to hopefully follow the progress as much a USPS allows that sort of thing: here is what I found out: That number is only scanned upon arrival/delivery...so there is no tracking available...to make matters worse, if you happen to lose the receipt (as I did this one over the past 10 days (It never happends but it did this time) Then you will lose your claim to the insurance settlement!...: the local post office has no copy of the receipt either: one copy goes on the box and the other is handed to you...no tickee, no washee... It all worked out this time, but I would have been stuck with a huge repayment if it had been stolen or damaged beyond repair...
After this incident, I plan to open a Fed-Ex online account for shipping instruments from now on...Maybe then I'll get a full nights sleep...we'll see....

Location: South of most, North of few | I will NEVER ship another guitar via USPS. After the 1758 debacle and others, I'll stick with Fedex. Cheaper if you have an online account, and a MUCH better tracking system. Hell, the post office doesn't even know it's delivered till a day after you get it. :mad: |

Location: Cincinnati | It's been a fun week. Mike and I have both been in a frenzy waiting for the Elite to arrive. AJ also will be receiving another nice guitar, which also just arrived today, but I'll let him tell you about that one. |

The other guitar is a nice original Wine Red 1431 Ultra GP.
I'll post pics on arrival in Oz.
