The Mothership outdid themselves on this one!

Nobody knows what to call it; but it looks gorgeous and sounds, well, like an Adamas!

OP-Pro Studio, 93C neck, Adamas Cobalt Blue CVT Top, Elite Epis (one was a stock Viper Epi, the other had to be custom-made by reversing the old tooling - what imagination!) Abalone trim, Ebony bridge to match the pegface and tuner buttons.

Loaded with craftsmanship that only a Mother(ship) can give!

Gotta go play!!!

Iffy,
It's got a Parlor body. Smaller/not full sized.

So it has 97C Parlor genes from the body, 93C genes from the neck, Adamas genes from the top, and Elite genes from somewhere.

I feel like Doctor Moreau or Frankenstein or something, but these Parlors keep coming out so darn cool I can't stop!!!

OK, obviously it's a custom. BUT, made from your parts or scratch from a MS menu?

The reason I'm so interested is that I LOVE the 'O' parlor size, ergo my attachment to my '97C! Man, my mind is racing with the possible fantastic combos... Ummm, let's see, an iDea p-a, inlaid walnut bass side epi, suspension ring, black nut & saddle, etc... Oh jeez, I could be in soooo much trouble...

"I feel like Doctor Moreau or Frankenstein or something"

Kind of like scratching a Skeeter bite, ain't it?

An Adamas Parlor size with Abalone inlay and is that your Member number on the 12th Fret?

Yeah, that was my question. Did you send them anything to start with?
An old 93C neck... That parlor body?
Or did they just scrounge-around in the parts bin and collect all that stuff?

I brought this down:

And spoke to John about possibilities. We had noodled about the Adamas top for my 97C and that wound up getting a Koa top (see the other post). First and only one of its' type, and stunning to look at and hear.

The 93C really just was a nice neck, so we planned and discussed this one a while. The Elite layout on the Parlor body was one hurdle, the Epis another. (Iffy - you can't fit a suspended ring top on the Parlor body.)

I wanted a "mini-Millennium" and this is what popped out! My 93C neck on a custom body. First and only one again.

After a couple of hours playing it I have to say that it is very impressive soundwise. I'm thinking the Adamas top would sound good on a cigar box!

I LOVE the Parlor body - let your imagination run wild!

I have my next Parlor "wish list" submitted and we will be mapping it out for Q4 delivery. Hint: It involves an abnormal number of strings for a Parlor.... :D

John, that little parlor Adamas is simply stunning. I'm trying to imagine what it would sound like but it's difficult since I'm unfamiliar with the sound of a parlor in the first place (only played one a few times in a GC years ago).

Here's a link to Jerome's site with pics of John's Koa Parlor .

The only other thing I can think of to do would be to take an old Folklore neck and put in on a parlor size.....

I would love the opportunity to sit down and play these guitars.....

I forgot to mention:
The extremely talented person who crafted this guitar/artwork at the Mothership is retiring after a 40-year career at Ovation.

This was his "swan song". I am deeply thankful to Gene for all the hard work that went into this guitar.

And I look forward to working again with John and Mike (who made my Koa baby)on the next mutant Parlor.

Mitz, was this a 97C overhaul (you already had the bowl), or do they still have parlor bowls available?

You obviously had the neck already, was everything else from scratch?

You have definitely gotten my attention.

They were able to find a bowl to match the used neck. (althought you couldn't tell it was used - the frets get dressed, etc. and it looks new!) The bowls must be new because they aren't cut for the TS preamp....

Mitz,
Have you considered a Baritone Parlor?
