I absolutely love this recording ( here ), but I'll be darned if I can tell whether the guy in the video is playing it or not.

He seems to be, but then there are times when his hands are simply a blur -- could be merely bad production. I've watched McLaughlin, DiMeola, etc., and you can always at least see, if not necessarily follow, what their hands and fingers are doing.

And, then, the rest of the video's production is quite good: sound quality, etc.(at least as far as YouTube goes). And he only rarely seems to use his little finger -- pretty strange in someone with apparenrtly such strong command of the fretboard.

What do youse all think?

Thanks!

Alan

Looks as if the sound is out of sync with the vid at times. I think the Ovation sounds the best.

Agreed...The ovation was sweet! The Godin was a tad tinny and nasal. The Classical was nice too. Very nice recording!

I was watching a DVD of Jimi Hendrix at the Isle of Wight...
He didn't use his pinkie either. I hadn't ever noticed that during the last forty years of watching him.

I agree that the Ovation sounded better than the Godin.

Wow, thanks for finding this Alan! The McLauglin-style lines are very nice! I too prefer the Ovation.
