What the best website is for Lyrics and Chords?I'm trying to put a book together and the ones I've found print so small that it's very hard to read. Thanks for any advice

They're all like that. What I do is highlight the text, copy and paste it to a word processing program. Now I can edit it, including adjusting the font and size, not to mention moving elements around so it makes a bit more sense at a glance.

Keith,
what I usually do is google the lyrics, copy and past in to Word. Then change it to the font and size I like. Then go into Chordie.com find the song and you can change the key to the key you like right on chordie. I will then retype the chords and adjust (example: shows Em and should be a Em7). I know a lot of work, but, I enjoy doing it and It's the way I like it.

Have you tried Cowboylyrics.com (I think) not sure what type of music you like so there's 2 you can try.

I also have probably 175-200 songs typed up so if you or anyone wants something, E-mail me you likes or taste in music and I'll be happy to send in off as an E.M. attachment.

Alittle bit of everything is at http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/

It is mostly rock, but they do have a touch of everything.
And if you are searching by Song Title, they often have a multiple artists' versions of it.
TAB, chords, bass TAB, but you cannot change the key on the site like Chordie.

I like the "senior font" that Otto uses in his book. Chordie is the next best. The ultimate guitar tabs are often too small for me and often comes out even smaller when you print it. I've had some success doing like BT suggests, but I still have problems with page breaks in the wrong places. I have to have a set of reading glasses and a reading lamp down in the band room. It's hell getting old, ain't it?

I like Chordie as a starting point.
I like how you can change & print the song in different keys.

Like the guys said, for the ones that become keepers do the Word copy, paste, change the font thing.

I like to use Arial fonts and size 14 or 16 depending on the song for a 2 pager. I stopped
trying to squeeze everything on 1 page

Your right, it is hell getting old,BUT, could you speak up, I can't hear you??!!! ;) :p

You are a freeking genius! (I do the same thing)
WORD works great and it takes little storage

We should (if it is ok with the moderators) somehow come up with a vault for songs. Dat would be very nice.

I am pretty sure we've discussed that in the past and due to "copyright or legal stuff" the OFC can't do that.

Yea I was thinking that might be a snag. Too bad.
I wonder how all these "music" places like chordie and cowboy lyrics do it?

I have over 3,000 tabs (94+ Mb), mostly in .doc and a few in .pdf. Of those I have over 370 either hand 'massaged' or they're close enough for me. Now granted many are not dead nuts on, but it's a start.

If ya'll want, I can ship a travelin' CD to Keith and he can then pass it on. LMK...

On alot of sites they say stuff like...

#----------------------------------PLEASE NOTE---------------------------------#
#This file is the author's own work and represents their interpretation of the #
#song. You may only use this file for private study, scholarship, or research. #
#------------------------------------------------------------------------------##

Meaning that people post them as their own interpretation of the song.
Not directly copied from somebody's song book.
Also sites like Chordie and UG might pay somebody something.

On the Sing-along Songs site, I believe that all their songs are in the 'Public Domain'...
But I've been wrong before.
