Pooh, I was willing to go up to 445 Euros at which point I quit 30 seconds before the final on evilbay Germany, but I saw it was sold for 1.266 Euros in the end. Maybe some friends in here may be interested to learn about this price which seems higher than the ones paid in the USA according to what I found out here in the OFC.

If the happy owner is one of us in here, congratulations! Still I am sad enough because I wasn´t able to get it.

This was my first attempt at an auction on evilbay and it was just too much for my nerves...

Regards to all of you,

Chris.

By the way, if the new owner is a member of the OFC, and willing to share this information, I am absolutely curious about the number of this FD 14...

Thanks a lot Iffy...
Guess I should ask him about shipping to Turkey... And then there might be a helluva lot of taxes to be paid...

In all fairness stellarjim should put it on evilbay Germany...

It was me! I was just about to write my first post and let everyone know about it... Thanks for your congrats, Chris! I feel extremly happy that I made it even though it got way more expensive than I was actually hoping. I still feel lucky.. my final bid was going to be 1000, but then I decided to go up to 1500 Euro because I really really wanted this guitar. And that was my luck, because in the last seconds someone put 1200 on it ;)

Now of course I can't wait to have it here... As soon as I hold it in my hands I will let you all know if it was worth all the stress xD

oh yeah... and sorry to you Chris...

Meuti,

Welcome to the Ovation International Family!

If that's your first Ovation, nice way to start off on a 'slippery slope'!

Thank you Iffy! It's not my first ovation. I own a 1614 Folklore for a couple of years and I really love it. A little while ago I had a nice emailchat with Dave Wittko (who is probably also in this forum). That was actually how I started to get more into the ovation-thing again which I had forgotten about the last years (don't ask me why - no idea).. Then I started reading in the OFC and pretty soon I stumbled over the FD14 and then... it was on ebay and I knew I needed it. The rest is history ^^

Well Meuti,

sincere congratulations once again and I wish you a lot of fun and wonderful tunes on this outstanding instrument! You certainly went straight for it :)

I was sure it was one from OFC who valued this guitar that much :)

Hi again Meuti,

I might really do that actually, since I am from Flörsheim (between Frankfurt and Wiesbaden), and I do visit my father sometimes who lives there. Not really far away from Hanau. So this guitar went to the region I stem from... another reason to feel glad for you :)

Hello again everyone!

Now one day after I'd like to know what you guys think of the price I paid to get the baby. Is it extremly high? I didn't really expect it to go over 1000 Euro, even though I was willing to pay more to own it. Seeing the rather small Dollars paid for a FD14 in the USA I wonder if German prices are really that much different. I found out that the FD14 did cost about 2.600 Euros in Germany when it came out in 2003, so about half of that for a used one doesn't seem to be that expensive, but still... ;)

However it probably was a one-time-only-chance and I am certainly happy (very happy) that I made it...

Regards
Meuti

If you are happy (very happy) then the price was just right. The rest does not matter. Welcome to OFC!

The price was reasonable for a guitar of this quality and quantity.

The market in europe is down as well, but some guitars still hold their value - even if they are still 'underpriced'.

The FD14 is one of them, Adamas I models (especially wide necks), followed by the other texture tops.

Glad it did not go for 445.- Euros. That would be a shame - and to read "I was willing to go up to 445" gives my heart a bad hurt.

Best regards,
Kurt

No. If so, I would have said it.

The only FD14 I have ever seen or played was the FD14 of our honoured member Charlie Ramon - but as far as I know his guitar went to france.

But - if GAS will take over you - I have some nice ones for sell.

Just click in my signature and choose... Ah wait, I have some more over there... Well, just ask!

Enjoy your guitar,
Kurt

Ok, it was just a guess ;) I think this will be the last guitar I've bought for quite a while now. I really hope it's as good as I've heard. :)

I tried to look at your site but it seems to be down at the moment.

Greetings to Munich

This is what everybody said right after joining here. Hang out for a while and... we'll have a talk later.

By the way, it's not my site, it's THE SITE: OVATIONTRIBUTE.com ! Besides Dave's Site, but you've found that one already.

Best regards,
Kurt

Bad expression: I couldn´t afford more... And there are a wife and a kid to think of... So don´t let your heart hurt too much, Kurt.

Best regards,
Chris
