Don't expect Burger King to serve Filet Mignon.

There are shops that cater to high end guitars. PEZ, go check out Music Emporium in Boston.

I assume you mean New models?

Last time I was up there, maybe 8-9 weeks ago they had 5-6 used USA models. All WAY OVERPRICED and a couple in not great condition.

GC was running a big sale over the weekend so I stopped in for a quick look. Passed on everything except a pair of used stage speaker stands for $10 that remain on police hold. Interesting what you find in that place.

GC is horrible... They are all about money and trying to sell you the product that makes them the most of it.

I could go in to buy one thing and some pimple faced punk always wants to sell me something else.

Me..."No Chief, I want to buy this one"

Little punk... "But this one is so much nicer and it's only $10 more, but I'll price match it."

Me... "OK, back to square one, I will take the one I picked out first... Ring me up Chachi"

Saw it this weekend, the sales guy sold a crappy guitar to a poor guy for his daughter without letting her even try it. Dumb on the guy for buying it... but the sales guy should know better. I bought ONE guitar from GC, my first one. NEVER again. At my local music store, I try guitars out for about an hour before I talk price, and they know it, don't push me or bug me until I am done test driving this guitar. I also get a free set up and strings, which i never take them up on... I do my own. But it's nice to get good service. They ALWAYS hook me up.

Ok, off the soap box... carry on.

I never see USA Ovations at my GC, but the large pictures and posters of the Mother Ship hanging on the walls are still there from the last marketing campaign before the corporate sale.

You haven't seen a pitiful selection of Ovations until you go into a Daddy's Junky music store. At one time, they had a wall full of cracked top Ovations.

I was there last night to get my dampit, and looked in their acoustic room. They only had two Ovations, and they were new Celebrities.

OTOH, I went into GC earlier this year and got my hands on a used 12 string ME Adamas. It was one of the nicest guitars I've tried, and can see why people love Adamas guitars. I think it went for $2K, something way out of my price range.

My fav BIG store for Ovation and Adamas is down in San Diego. Music Power. They even had new Folklores and Country Artists!

Too bad it's 1500 miles away from me.

GC in North Olmsted now has competiton from the new Best Buy in Strongsville. Its the only Best Buy in Ohio that has a music deopartment, with a a BIG accoustic room including Ovations, some high end gibsons such as a Humingbird,a J200 and a Songwriter, 4 taylors inlcuding an 814, some low end Martins,Yamahas and Takamines. It also has a wall of electrics, including Fenders, Gibson les pauls, schecters, etc. Basically every guitar that Best Buy has on its website. I bet there will be some deals on Black Friday and after Christmas.
