Location: 6 String Ranch | In setting up guitars for a picture today for possible inclusion in the calendar I got the two Qs out, restrung them and posed them in the back yard. In full sun the ebony fingerboards looked real funny.
Upon closer inspection it turns out they are grafite. Well, well, well, that was a suprise.
In checking with Darren at the factory his recollection is that there were maybe 10 made of which 5-6 still survive. These are the first Dodge hole units
Then there were the wavy hole guitars and I had thought they were bolt on necks. Not so, they have the thru neck as well but again there were only about 10-29 made of them as well.
Amazing what you can find out when you ask the right questions and look real close at what's in front of you. |
