The only thing I was able to teach Karl when I was over there was that our Ws are not pronounced like our Vs. I studied German 40 years ago in school and I couldn't even begin to speak or write any coherent sentences, except if I needed to order beer.

Based on my recent trip to a number of countries in Europe, no matter how hard we tried to speak their language (pick one, any one), they answered back in English. Their ability to speak English is 1,000% better that our ability to speak their native languages.

And so I hope, you all understand what I mean in my posts here. If there were great mistakes, please feel free to tell it to me. Bernie

I'm playing all my other guitars constantly on stage an it's no problem for me if they get scratched or get a ding on top. (Except 1187) 1187-247 was a holy thing for me - and more a collectors guitar than a players guitar. I like to have "patina" on my guitars :-) I use them but do not abuse them! 1680 is my favourite Adamas followed by my old 1687. 1688 is without doubt the best 12-String to me. My absolute best wooden-box ist my Gibson J-50. Followed by a J-45. So, theres a lot of stuff left ... an my pillow will stay dry at night ;-) Ralf

I am sure he meant to put a price of 3,500 euro.s (4 - 5 Thousand dollars) but he goofed and put the price at 3.5 euros which is about $ 4 - $5...what a bargin for someone...

We drive on the other side of the road, use our own currency and use a random mix of metric and imperial measures. Ireland (where SWMBO originates) is increasingly aligning with mainland Europe. They do speeds and distances in km now as well as using the Euro currency. I always smile at (US-made) computer programs that ask me to choose between English and British English as a language option...

Frage: wo wohnst Du? Ich würde Dich gerne einmal kennenlernen. Herzliche Grüße Bernie

I didn't buy her. She was a bit too expensive and I am not the "Super-(Guitar)-Player", I wouldn't be able to give her all she deserves. That's why I am happy on one hand, that Meuti got the FD14 (thank you Bernie *Meuti). He probably can play her much better than me (thank you Bernie :D *blushing Meuti) and just a "nice to have" is another thing. I have recently bought a couple of Oldtimers, that I renewed and I'm happy to hear them sound good when I play around with them. (...) *translation end* I hope I got it quite right.

Maybe it's time for another OFC meeting in Germany. We had an European OFC meeting in 2007 (pictues are here ) at my house. Would be fun to have another one next year. Karl
