Another thread has brought this topic back to the fore and folks seemed to have some fun and insight the last time around so I thought I'd resurrect it to see what new fruit falls from the tree.

The original question was:

I'm curious what are your favorite songs to play on a 12 string guitar?

I have a few that have been with me for a long time that I am leaning now, most notably Queen's Love of My Life and 39, Dan Fogelberg's Part of the Plan, and the (seemingly required) Supertramp's Give a Little Bit. But as I have been fishing around I came across an interesting series of videos with Tommy Shaw and his 12 playing a variety of Border's book stores in promotion of an album he did. It kind of showed me the potential in a really simple way.

This particular video was especially interesting because of the reunion of Tommy Shaw and Dennis DeYoung which I can't imagine happens very often let alone in this kind of informal setting.

So, what are your 12 string favorites?

If I only ever learn to play one 12 string tune properly it has to be:-

Busted Bicycle (By Leo Kottke - on his album 6 & 12 string guitar)

Surely there isn't any better 12 string tune ?

Here's a guy doing one of the best covers of the tune on the tube - although I'm not sure why he's dressed as a ninja !

What a fall from grace. I last saw Stix at a crammed stadium, headlining with Heart. Here they're at a Borders bookstore playing in front of 50 people. Sad.

What wrong with the Nuge, Never was a big fan of his back in the day, but he came to Nashville and played the Ryman about a year ago and He was pretty damn good though I never say him in his prime.

Tho I don't have a 12'er, I'm trying to learn The Byrds "My Back Pages" on my Legend... Fretkillr does it OK, but it needs 12 strings on the bridge lead.

Music Box Dancer with a capo on the fifth fret. My old Pacemaker makes a remarkable sound doing that.
