70's strat reissue, with 5 way selector installed. Typical sun burst color with white pg and maple neck. Mint.

What would be a fair price to sell for? was purchased in 08. I had one offered to me, I can't grab it, broke, but I have a family member who might. They wanted 1400 for it,seemed high to me. I'm in Canada, so that'a our funds there.

Over here it makes a HUGE Difference between USA made or Elsewhere made ..

USA made it would be a fair price ..

Elsewhere made , hmm .. well under a thousand.

Like Vic said, depends on where it was made. MIM reissues are about $700US new. US made are a whole 'nuther can of worms. Does it have a Custom Shop logo on the back of the headstock?

I was never a fan of the three-bolt necks. It was a cost-cutting move by CBS that many believe assisted in the deterioration of quality and the design didn't last. When the reissues came out, I couldn't believe it. Maybe they're better made nowadays, but $1400 seems high. A USA Standard Strat can be found for half that.

there wasn't anything good in the 70s, why reissue it?

USA standard is half that as stated above and twice the guitar.

1400 canadian remember. But if a standard is twice a guitar, that is what I needed to hear., I have no idea about the differences between strats outside of what I can read on wiki or somewthing.,

Plenty of USA Strats can be found in the $700-850 US range. Just keep looking and you should be able to find one that's in like-new condition in that price range.

I have a 1991 Strat Plus (USA), considered to be one of the "better" Strats. "better" being a relative term. In excellent condition, they sell for $800-$1200 now. The one your looking at is a reissue, so I doubt its worth that much on either side of the border.
