Huh? The difference is only the width of the low E string,

That I've never seen before

The difference is 1/16" between the standard Ovation 1-11/16" nut and the wide neck 1-3/4". That is the same as .0625". The lights that I put on have a low E thickness of .054", darn near the same distance. To be really precise, the outside of the E to E nut slots on a standard Ovation would come to the inside edge of the E to E nut slots on a wide neck Ovation.

We marked on the edge of a card the E to E spacing on an Ovation before going to the store. On the 1-3/4" Ibanez nut the mark was just inside the low E string.

Some of the entry level guitars were even closer spaced than 1-11/16". Ray, the owner of the shop, told us that the race is on to have thin necks and close string spacing so that the acoustic neck feels like an electric neck. Ovation was 30 years ahead of it's time.
