Just noticing a few today. Here's one that says it's "custom", but it's a regular Legend model 1777. If you look even closer, you'll see that the 2 pictures are of different guitars, one is a custonm, the other not...

Here's another. Apparently the 1778LX is now a blue finished thinline pickuped, SSB with a Celebrity neck...

Buyers beware.

evilBay encourages liars. That blue Celebrity has been up there a dozen times, each time listed as a 1778LX. I contacted the seller once and he said that he confused it with another listing. I have reported it every time I have seen it. evilBay keeps allowing it to be listed. As long as they get their listing fee and 9% of the action they don't care.

Apparently, I need to adjust my panties...

Q: Why do you continue to insist these are the same guitar? The fretboard of the one in the case has no fret markers on the first fret, the other does. The one in the case has a single diamond fret marker on the 3rd fret, and the other has 2 diamonds. The one in the case has 2 wide fret markers on the 5th fret, and the other has a cluster of 4. The one in the case has a white binding only, while the other has abalone all around the the edge. You're not fooling anyone here. Feb-26-10
A: Not trying to fool anyone, smartypants... honest mistake. The guitar is no longer for sale. I was selling to raise money for an RV and now my client pre-paid my work and I do not need to sell my beautiful guitar. Definitely the one in the case. I am not sure how I got the other photo I thought I shot it next to my garage where I shoot a bunch of photos of my musical instruments from time to time. Didn't mean to get your panties in a bunch. No disrespect intended, but you guys take this stuff waaaaaaay to seriously. I have been known to offer a correction to others on ebay once in awhile, but once it's been noted, they can choose to ignore, but everyone sees the note... mission accomplished. Remember to most people, a guitar is a guitar is a guitar... Even if it's theirs... it's just a guitar. No need to be rude to perfect strangers. In fact, from the outside looking in...

While comments like "watching this bait and switch routine" and "You're not fooling anyone here" make you feel good... to everyone else it just looks like your trying to scam a low price off a more expensive guitar. Not the case I know... but that's what it looks like to everyone just passing by.

A slightly different approach and we might have another new member or two.

I'm just say'n... just cause your not paranoid doesn't mean they aren't really out to get'ya.

:)

If anyone feels a listing is legitimately fraudulent, there is a "report item" button on every listing.

Lets face it. Posting about it here is somewhat preaching to the choir. Reporting it to eBay is actually constructive.

This thread has lived its usefulness.
