Anyway, I have one that is a bit slippy so I picked up a small piece of leather at a craft store and some E-6000 glue from home depot. Soft comfy, non sweat and easy on the cloths. Funny my shiny bowl does not slip near as much as my old legend.

(Not to belittle them, but that is what they are) I prefer Dave's suggestion of 3M Stair Tread material, or them dancing-feet thingies. They would work better, for a longer time. Plus, the velvet stuff just attracts dirt.

When we were talking about this on another occasion I gave it a try... I laid it on my leg. It worked really well. BUT! Although I have tried the Slip-Grip, and that web stuff, I have found that after playing Ovations for a while I do not need any of them. If you are seated, just stand the guitar upright on you leg. If you do not pull it towards you body with you right arm it should not move. I have actually found that SSB's move around more than deep bowls. I also discovered that once I have played a Contour Bowl for a while it taught me to hold my guitar correctly, not leaning the guitar back against my body. If you really like to lean back with your guitar lying on your belly, use a strap.
