i just saw the band bad company last night on the paladia network at the hard rock in a concert filmed in february in las vegas . at 40 minutes into it the one guitar uses an ovation .
paul rodgers and the band still sound very good.
i always enjoy a band that can still attract a good audience and sound great at 60 years old.GWB

LOL... I'm glad Paul is back doing the music he does best. He was playing with the Miranda, May, etc.. group... but a replacement Freddy Mercury he is not. He is Paul Rogers, still one of the best set of pipes in the industry.

". . best rock and roll voice ever! . . "

see, . . I've heard a LOT people say that, and I just never liked his voice.

BadCompany(MadisonSq.Garden/Summer'77) was one of th'FEW rock concerts that I ever walked-out of halfway thru . . .

Don't know what it "is" . . .
(or ISN'T, for that matter)

I think P. Rodgers is right up there and he gets extra points for longevity. Probably should be in anyone's top ten.

I'll post up Burton Cummings into the mix. Unfortunatly his pipes have rusted up, but in his prime, that guy could belt it out.

Some people say Steve Perry...I hated him.
the guy from Foreigner...he was good.
Dude from Steppenwolf...good
I never liked squealers, although I kinda liked Sammy Hagar. Jack Bruce was completely different, but he was cool

Some voices have the technical stuff down and some voices have a certain unique character.

dark bar i agree with you on jack bruce . when he did the cream reunion 2006 his voice was pretty strong for a 63 year old .
he did a fantastic job on the song
" were going wrong "
so i go to you tube and look up some versions he did and found this one .this one shows he can play the piano but man the vocals ???
i do really like the way it sounds on the piano , it gives it a very mystical twist verses the guitar version of it.
as far as his voice in this version ?
i guess everyone has an off day . GWB

I sat in on drums with the guy that toured with BC after Paul left. His name is Dan Schaffer, not the one on here. The name of his band is Rock and Load. He has a great voice. Probably Google him and you'll see why he replaced Paul JB

Thanks for the heads-up on the Paladia show. Already scheduled to record the next showing on the tivo. :)

Love Bad Company, but even more than the hits I love the album Desolation Angels. The hit on that album was Rock and Roll Fantasy, but I found the rest of the album much more interesting than that track.

Paladia has a lot of good stuff. It's one of the few out of the ga-zillion channels that makes good on all the promises cable TV has made.

I'm a Paul rogers fan. Never was much of a oueen fan but freddie and the other guys are great. I became a oueen fan when Paul started gigging with them. They made it very clear he was not trying to replace Freddie that almost can't be done but he did a great job of making those song his own.
