Joined: September 2009 Posts: 180 Location: michigan | I remember reading a post about a month ago where an ebayer was showing a legend with the american flag in one picture, and a custom legend in the second picture for the same auction. I recently bought a 1777 legend without the custom legend bling (#40 of 75) with the american flag bling (just too cool). It will go nicely next to my 1776 legend (maybe I'll make the calendar. as I understand. From what I gather adrianick guitars (sp) made a special run of the same american flag top with custom legend trim in a shallow bowl. just how many of these american flag ovations are out there (how many different flavors, and how many of each flavor. from my internet research the orignal run was 75 (I am pretty sure my 40 of 75 is one of the original). I have 30 days to return it, but I am jazzed to have got one. I don't think it needs the custom legend bling (which I like) but it is an a braced mid bowl from what I could find out. I tried looking at the archives on this web site (legend american flag) and didn't pull up anything... Any help/history or links about these would be appreciated.

Great guy, great company (but that's why we are all hear thanks to Al and Miles) ... Guitarwannabee, yep, got an Adamas 2080 on layaway. With the tax refund I'll be set for a while... SlipKid It looks like Harson's Island is happening for us, we'll pick up everyone at you place for the Bittter Cold Jam II (or Blistering Humid Jam I) in June or July in our FORMULA on the lake. Love the view from your yard. It will be a good housewarming, an ovation get together. Hopefully we can get the same gang and get BVINCE to come down and bring some of his cool stuff (plus anyone else that wants to come out). Had a blast in the winter.

Harsens island would be hard to describe to out of towners. It has a very unique vibe.

Joined: September 2009 Posts: 180 Location: michigan | Should be getting the guitar Friday. Thanks for the links/help. Talking with mr. keller at ovation was a treat. I am having a 12 string custom legend redone similar to my 30th anniversary custom legend, and am glad to have chatted over the phone. The new 12 will have the ability to use either an op pro, or an op pro studio . It was great to talk with someone who has worked with so many ovations. Mr. Keller thought I might like the op pro studio preamp better in the 12 string, then in the 6 string (wouldn't have even thought of that on my own). So now, the wait begins ... Back to the USA Legends: Getting one of the original 75 legend usa flag models seems to be more collectible than the custom legend usa flags (more bling, but done on a custom order basis). I have seen these come up from time to time but didn't really pay attention as to whether or not it was a legend (one of the original 75) or a custom legend usa (not as limited but more bling). I am sure they both sound amazing. By accident, I ended up with one of the original 75 (#40) . I am sure either one would sound great, and I am a fan of the custom legend, but happy I ended up with the one I did. Was a guitar center price drop with a 15% off over the weekend deal off of their website. Had the salesperson do a detailed inspection top to bottom... At least with Guitar Center, you can purchase from anyone of them in the country, and you have a full 30 days to return it to your local guitar center for a full refund... Should be a good weekend for pics. too.

Can't get a good picture though as my autofocus on my digital camera keeps selecting a different part to focus on. this weekend, i will try some outdoor photos. I didn't realize that the fingerboard is floating from the 14th fret all the way to the soundhole (I could fit a piece of paper under it) 2ifbyc, is this how yours is. plays great and is amazing in person. please let me know 2ifbyc and thanks
