I bought the Ovation 6751LX 12 String Natural Finish and Ovation 2778LX in New England Burst! I'm waiting for the 2778LX to be delivered. The 6751LX is flawless and the action was set to go right out of the box. Plugged in it was superior to many of the guitars I tested costing much more. I've been looking for a 12 string for a while and I couldn't find one that suited me until I got the 6751LX. I got a little over anxious when I was made aware that Ovation was having a sale and I purchased the 2071 Ultra without reading where it was made. The action was to my liking. Although not a true "American Ovation" as the sub-assemblies were Korean made still a decent guitar for the price case included. The only thing I didn't like was the way the rosette was set, it wasn't a "flush fit" as the other Ovations. I own a few other guitars that were made offshore and assembled and set up in the U.S. I have no qualms with them as they are good mid priced guitars that I can use in the studio or for a gig.

The more you stick around, the more you'll learn useful info like the fact that your Ovations already come with Dunlop strap lock buttons, and the benefits of airlocks and string tubes, and that Ovation made wonderful electric guitars that you never knew existed, and that your fellow members are really cool people, and... Welcome aBOARD! Jas

Ever since Ovation Guitars came out I always wanted to get one and I finally did! I will post some pictures within the next few days. I am hunting down another U.S. model to quench my Ovation G.A.S. I agree, the Ultras are closer to the U.S.A. made Ovations. The only feature that irks me with the Ultra 2071 is way the rosette is set - it reminds me of a doughnut. Too bad the designers didn't think to seat it flush with the sound hole. I must admit it is an attractive piece in spite of it. I was totaly surprised by the tight grain of the Sitka Spruce top this was another attractive feature of the Ultra. All together the Ultra cost under $600.00 with the hardshell case I thought this was a good deal. I currently own a Takamine Ltd. 2004. This model has the "Celestial Theme." The workmanship is beautiful and it's comfortable to play and the sound is great.

We have yet to find a cure. And welcome aboard. One more thing . . . better start clearing some space for expansion of your music room. There never seems to be enough of it for many of us.
