How much do you reckon those foil labels on the older O's would add to the cost of a new Ovation?

They look SOOO much classier than the cheap paper ones. No matter how fancy they try to make them look, they're still paper.

One of the reasons I jumped on the Folklore so quickly was for the label. I know, I'm obsessed!

I reckon they should start making the foil labels again and only put them on the US models...

What about an online petition? Reckon it'd hold any weight?

(I already know the answer)

Problem with the foil labels is that they were difficult to attach cleanly. The paper-foil ones on the reissues looked pretty good.

I took one out of a junk 1111. It had already been removed and reattached so it's rough. I'm hoping to smooth it out some without ruining the original embossing. No idea what I will do with it. It might look neat on a small wooden wall plaque or something.

Yeah.. something like those would be great.
The current design showing the factory are a huge improvement over the older blue ones.
.
Great idea to put better labels on the USA models. To bad that the only ones to crack the code and know what the better label would mean are the few of us here.

muzza... at my very first factory tour, during the Q&A session, with all the Ovation mucky-mucks present, I stood right up and sang the praise of the foil label. I discovered right then just how loud the crickets are in the field by the parking lot.

Just giving my opinion. I'm on the internet and that's what I'm supposed to do when I'm on the internet.

While I realize it's all about cost, I agree on the concept of "the label." I don't really care about foil, although that would certainly be nice, it seems a little wrong to stick a piece of paper in a guitar that sells for more than lets say $2000. Certainly wrong on one that's $4000 or more. Sure, an additional sticker to write any numbers on... fine.. but the logo? I'd almost rather see nothing.

This is why economy cars have Four lug-nuts and upper-scale cars have Five.

Renault used to have three lugs, and you see what happened to them....

Anyway, back to the labels. Of the modern (?) types, I prefer the foil labels. I think the blue and white ones look rather cheap with the gray/white coming in a close second. The original square label is a better choice IMHO, with a model number and serial number. Simple is better. Or like Miles said, no label at all, just a serial number, stamped in the neck block, with a designation in it for the model.
