God musta flooded out Opryland to pay back those evil sons of bitches for running a business that provides thousands and thousands of jobs in Nashville. All those people are going to be better off now that the government is going to handle things for them.

FWIW, I've been to Opryland three times and I never had to pay anything to see any of the music.

Hey! Don't shoot the messenger!

Grand Ole Opry tickets cost about $40 for normal folks...
(if you've got a backpack and long-hair you ain't getting on the property)
But $40 is alot better than $200 to see U2!
And I would much rather see the Opry than U2.
But it is not like they need donations to rebuild the "icon"...
The Icon was/is the Ryman... but Emmylou Harris and them had to rebuild that.
Opryland Inc just built another Six Flags thingie...
(in a flood plain apparently)

All in All... I am glad that the Opry is back at the Ryman.
They should leave it there.

The Grand Old Opry is one of the best shows going. They use LIVE musicians.

There's a report this morning that the large storage facility of Soundcheck Nashville is underwater. A thousand or more artists and companies use that facility. They say that Brad Paisley's entire collection except for one guitar is in there, and Vince Gill may have lost most of his collection of rare vintage instruments. It's going to be a disaster for a lot of collectors, working musicians, and music related businesses.

I watched a Telethon from Nashville last night. Vince Gill did lose some guitars. He also gave $100,000 to help the relief effort.

Who in their right mind would store valuable items in a facility located in a flood zone? I know, it only floods once every hundred years or so, but still. There have to be storage facilities in Nashville that are better located....like on a hill.
I know about flood zones here in Florida. My safety deposit box is at a bank that's high and dry.
