Location: Carle Place, NY | I posted today a thread about the coincidence that on the anniversary of the day that the most famous poem ever written about baseball was published, a huge story hits the news that will most likely change the rules of baseball. I suggested that maybe it was fate.
Then the thread took off in a direction that was not only way off my original topic, but went into things that are known by everybody to be impermissable on this board.
The topic was then properly closed by our board administrator.
Folks, think before you reply, and try and stick to the subject at hand. |

To answer your question... poems about baseball don't really relate to guitars, Ovations, or music.... however, while not "ON" topic, they certainly aren't forbidden topics.
Frankly, as has always been, a little trivia or other info that may entertain the masses... why not. I guess it could be argued that a Poem is a form of musical expression, or could be. Or it could be put to music. Many like necks that could easily double as baseball bats due to their profile. I'll even go as far as saying Ovation has hit a few home runs in the effort to design and build fine instruments.
The bottom line is two wrongs don't make a right.
Just because someone posts something off-topic doesn't give license for a free-for-all of everything that should not be posted here. The first rule is "be kind to each other." Disrespect to the original author and further disrespect to Al and I by not following the few guidelines we have is not "kind,"... it's just disrespectful.

I am going to close this thread (I hope the author doesn't mind). It gave me an opportunity to remind folks why we are here, and to provide an explanation.
Thanks for listening (err... reading) :) |
