Crimson, that reminds me, I owe you the entrance fee back since you couldn't make it. It will be on the table next Wednesday night at the S/S. Come on down and get it.

Beal - I would be on the next plane if I could.

I had never assumed it was refundable. I figured it was too late to replace me. If that's not the case - keep it for the next one - because I will be there come hell or high water.

Whoa: I go away with the family for one day!

When this was first suggested, it was just after we were back from the event and any talking about this between Tim and myself was just getting started and in the beginning stages. I had spoken with Matt at the event about his concert which I and Tim taped (Tim taped all the sessions and the writers night etc. I was the photographer as Jerome had asked me to do). At that time Matt asked me to send him a copy of the concert for him to make a determination. To be honest, I have been so busy with finishing school and with my job that I have not even watched it back yet. Tim has been just as busy with his job and we both have families. In the interim Tim and Matt discussed this and I was informed about a week ago of what the decision was. I was able to get the still pic's done and sent to Jerome who did a great post on his site. If there was miscommunication about DVD’s, it was certainly unintended, but I will take full responsibility. All of this was a new discussion and nothing final had been suggested or worked out. I think that Matt has been more than fair in his willingness to work with all of us and certainly to give a fabulous clinic over the course of three days: and he is so right: we were all just like a big family. Not to appear special, or elitist because everyone on the board had a chance to attend. These clinics are Matt’s property and his decision as to who can receive the content or not is totally his to make: and rightly so. I apologize if I jumped the gun and suggested or implied anything else. I certainly never meant to do that and truthfully did not know that was taking place. I did say at the initial posting about this that details were being worked out and that the process would take some time to get through. They have been and it is. For Matt to agree to the distribution even to the attendees is a privilege and is only because of Matt being the person he is: a humble, caring, and first class individual, musician, and teacher.
Again, I am sorry if I jumped the gun: we were all excited from the event and I perhaps put the preverbal cart before the horse: so to speak. It was unintended.

Being able to attend one of Matt's clinic's wherever it is being held is an event not to be missed!
Again, if you can make it next time, you will understand what we were and have been excited about.

Mike (and others), don't worry about it...there was good intent. Just glad you guys had so much fun.

Actually, it probably includes incriminating material...better we (and their spouses) don't know.

Don't you mean "every US based member?

Did anyone even read my previous post? For me this is more about the event than the content. So why can't Matt make a little more out of the event (tax free? :D )by charging a market price?

One member came from GB. At least 2 of us came from the other end of the country.

GB is a walk across the street compared to coming from AU.

We need to respect Matt's decision however.

I think most of this comes down to Matt's contractual obligations. He is an recognized artist and it's how he makes his living, and it is a business, so he has publishing companies, rights management, lawyers, etc to deal with. There's a lot of stuff involved ...

Matt's existing stuff is all available because it's all been throught the gauntlet it needs to run. Maybe a suggestion to Beal's wish list is for a Matt clinic down under ... if there's enough interest I'm sure something could be worked out. There probably a few Yanks here who would figure out a way to make a vacation out of the opportunity.

Australia has been on SWMBO's vacation getaway for over 20 years, that one I COULD definitely go into debt for without having to have a "discussion" :D

Jeff, NZ is on the way. And anyway, as far as I remember, there's only been one Kiwi member in the last 2 years. And he's disappeared again.

Come one, come all. We can have it at AJ's apartment. :D

Shorts and t shirts in the middle of winter.

You comin', Schroeder?

That particular highly respected member seems to spend more time in the US than in England. (Can you feel the envy?)
