They would either be Pings, or Schaller, I think.
It would help if you posted a pic of the back of the head.
But they are all pretty standard, it is just that the screw-holes are in different places.
If extra screw-holes don't bother you, you could get whatever you like...
Grovers, Schallers, nifty open-geared things, whatever. |

While most Shaller/grover-style sealed tuners are interchangable without modification, vintage style open-geared tuners such as Waverley, Kluson Deluxe or Grover Sta-Tite have a much narrower shaft. So to use open-gear tuners the existing hole would need to be plugged and redrilled, or Stew-Mac do a oversized bushing to convert modern tuner holes to accept open-gear tuners.
A 70's Balladeer would have nylon bodied Schaller M6N, Custom Balladeer would have Chrome M6. Both types are interchangable and easily available. |
