Joined: January 2009 Posts: 65 Location: Florida | Hi, I picked up an Ulta GS(2 F?). Not a lot of of info out there on the internet, other than photos. I did find this picture at Ovationtribut.com http://www.ovationtribute.com/Electric%20Series/Ultra_GS/Ultra_GS1-... which looks just like mine. It's even missing the bar. I'm wondering A: what kind of tremolo is it? And B: can a replacement bar be had? Thanks, Nibblegribitz

It's looks like someone "dressed" up the guitar as that wasn't (too my knowledge) the original pickup cover. However, I have seen those pickups on other Ovation guitars recently... sooo... my wonders about that. I have been unable to id that trem (or the one I have which is a black model). I am missing one of the adjusters, so it would be nice to find another.

Then I tweaked the proportions. So, anybody out there ever seen this tremolo other then the two i have shown? Thanks Iffy!!

It's capable for left or right handed guitars and it's got solid adjustments, smooth action. If I had to rate it compared to Kahler, I'd say it's better than a Flyer, just shy of a Pro. But not a marking anywhere, and I have taken one completely apart.

Try em till ya find one. #2 Talk to the dude at fretsonthenet.com He's not the quickest, but I buy all my arms from him. He makes several hard to find parts. #3 Try finding out the thread size by taking it to a hardware store. If you can figure out the size you might be able to find one on the web easier.

Anyone know a current way to reach Paul Dowthwaite From OvationUK? I would like to ask him about his Ultra GS. When I click on his link I get either a 404 error "The webpage cannot be found" or "Forbidden You don't have permission to access / on this server. --------------------------------------------- Apache Server at www.ovationuk.co.uk Port 80"

I clicked onto it and lo and behold, there was a picture of the 'mystery' bridge. The 'mystery' bridge is an Accutune Tremolo system/A kahler knock off made in Korea. Further research reveals that they came on several 80's Japanese guitars such as Aria Pro, Cort, and the Dean Hollywood Z. Also on some Alvarez Yairi and BC Rich guitars. The general concensus is that it's a piece of c**p. My thanks to the OFC for their efforts. Have a happy but safe 4th week-end!!!
