Last night I had the pleasure of seeing Pat Benatar and REO Speedwagon performing here in Wichita.

Pat, at the self-admitted age of 57, can still ROCK! The mix was a little rough for the first two numbers, but the sound guys finally got it right. It looked like Pat and Spyder were really enjoying themselves.

REO was just great. This tour marks the 30th anniversary of their "Hi Infidelity" album. Don't let the greying hair fool you. These guys still put on an energetic performance. Kevin Cronin played four different acoustics during their set - all Ovations.

Coincindentally I was playing 'Take it on the Run' last night on a 70s Balladeer. Not a song I normally play, I was just feeling a little quirky and the TV satellite was out due to the thunderstorm. I left the laptop off, since I've already replaced one modem this month due to lightning.

Quirky...

Which would explain me playing REO, Itchycoo Park, Make it with You, and Paula Abdul's timeless 'Straight Up'.

Now you know why they don't let me out much.

Hey, James. Sorry for the late reply. Kevin's voice sounded great that night, and the guy still has so much energy.

I didn't pay any attention to REO when they were at the height of their popularity. I saw them for the first time when they toured with Styx about six years ago and have been a fan since.

I noticed that Pat changed a couple of her vocal arrangements slightly. Even so, everything she sang was flawless.

Except for the seats from hell in our arena, it was a great evening.
