I felt the need to tell the story of my Ovation. It was purchased for me in 2009 and sent to join me on my 2nd deployment in Iraq. It withstood every bit of weather and enemy fire that was thrown at us. We constantly had no electricity since we lived in the middle of nowhere. As soon as it went out everyone would huddle around me and listen or sing. It kept me and my fellow soldiers company for 12 brutal months of Iraq. Im finally out of the Army and home from Iraq. I move into my house with my new son and wife out in the country and not even after a month we are robbed and the guitar disappears. Ive searched and searched...its signed by every soldier in my platoon that served with me that year in Iraq and has many memories both good and bad. I hope the person who took it decides to throw it in the yard at night. You make a great product and if i can ever afford another i will be purchasing another but nothing will replace it. Its a standard shallow bowl Black Celebrity with a Misfits sticker on the front thats got an american flag as a backdrop. Its covered in signatures in silver paint pen. It withstood bullets, bombs and desert heat and sand but it couldnt withstand 6 months in America. Go figure. ~Daniel

We'll be on the lookout, Doc.

I've got a guitar here that spent 7 months in Ramadi ... caught a couple of battle scars but luckily the player didn't (my son). I know that your O brought a lot of comfort to your platoon. I hope we can find a way to get it back to you.

As far as the bastids that stole it ... there's a special place in hell for them.

BTW, I think someone here posted a link to put us on alert to watch for it ... did you place a Craig'sList ad asking for the thieves to just bring your guitar back and keep everything else? We were all pretty fired up when we read about it ...

I heard about this too and yes somebody posted a link to your Craigslist ad.
If anybody here comes across it that is familiar with it from here, rest assured you'll be contacted.
I can attest there are some fantastic folks here.
This board helped me out a lot when I was over in Iraq (I just got back in March).
I hope your guitar shows up and maybe with a liitle blood on it that belongs to the piece of garbage that took it.

We'll keep our eyes open, you can be sure of that. If whoever took it wants to maintain his health, he should just drop it off at either your place or an OFC member's place, and run along quietly. If he does that, it'll get right back to you pronto, you can be sure of that!

I know what that feels like, I had a 61 Fender, that went with me to 30 countries, and 48 states. It's gone now and I know I will never see it again. We entertained a lot of my fellow MP's when I was in, I truly miss that guitar. I will be watching the Indiana area for your guitar. Welcome Home Brother.

Welcome home anyway Daniel...I agree with Bobbo...Seems I've read that Arabic culture knows how to treat thieves...
Again, thanks for your service and welcome to the OFC!

That doesn't look like a black Celeb SSB with silver signatures. :(

Nah, it's not the one, shame though, it'd be nice to catch somebody,
"Paypal? I tell you what, could I just meet you somewhere and pick it up in person?" :)

Daniel..
Welcome home! I can picture your guitar and your times together.. and I am very sorry to hear your story. With it being such a unique instrument considering all the signatures and such, hopefully you can keep your ear to the ground and track it back down in your local area. Again.. welcome home and thank you for your service!
