Location: The Great Pacific Northwest | I've always liked the style of PRS guitars. I love the countersinking of the knobs, headstock, etc. However, the overall "bang for buck" stops me. The quality of build compared to Hamer is arguable. I think they are both finely crafted instruments, and while I haven't seen PRS's build process, I would think the custom built models from each are probably close to each other in overall quality. The results are certainly close in quality to the naked eye. That's why I can't bring myself to pay so much more for a PRS. I can get a Hamer built, to my spec (I assume you still can) for much less than the equal PRS.
As for Gibson.. they have a name. The only comparison to either Hamer or PRS is they are guitars. |

Location: Tennessee | PRS also sells a boatload of guitars that are made in Asia and go for about $500. They look pretty much just like the high priced ones just from the pictures in the catalogs and online. Sound familiar? |

Location: Texas | Wow, Mike, that's gorgeous… one of coolest-looking guitars I've ever seen…
…despite the fact that the string pairs are backwards…
