I'm taking a long weekend in Vegas and catching the acoustic duet of Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds Friday and Saturday nights at Planet Hollywood.

We'll be there through Monday eve. Any tips on things to do? Honestly, I haven't been there for about 20 years now.

They have cleaned-up Vegas.
They have limited the comp drinks.
All the 59 cent breakfasts and 2 Hot Dog and a beer lunches are gone.
All the $10 motels are gone.
They want it to be Family Friendly...
Kinda like how they turned 42nd Street into Disneyland.

I had fun in early '89... It suct in 2003

we go just about every other year , bring lots of money like oma said the days of a bargin are gone. a drink will cost you $ 6.00-$ 7.00 minumen and a decent buffet will cost you $15.00-$30.00.
the town is still growing and the events to see are still very cool but expensive.
we took in the beatles love show which was one of the best iv'e ever seen there . don't buy the highest priced seats for the seats everywhere are good. if you like magical mystery tour then this is the best show for you.still the best town to just have fun and people watch . GWB

There's a Super 8 a block off the strip that is still relatively reasonable.

I miss the huge platter of biscuits and gravy they used to sell at Whiskey Pete's near the CA border. That was my favorite thing about driving through.

Just don't lean too far.

And to somewhat bring it back around, I've never been there and really have no desire to. But have a great time at the show, Damon.

It's a 5 hour drive for me and I go abot 2 times a year. Never gamble. For me the best entertainment is just the people watching. Talk about the plus and minus 3 sigma, geez. Some great restaurants and good shows. I think you'll have fun.

Not anymore. They have abandoned that strategy. Sin City lives once again.

The big thing now are all the "European Style" pools at all the hotels ... read "topless". Call ahead for reservations. Women get in free, men have to pay like $100. Get a cabana for another hundred or so and have all the drunk, friendly partygoers stop by and introduce themselves and the twins.

I like seeing all the lounge shows. They're pros ... but sometimes velveeta is truly an epicurean delight.

They didn't make money off of families with small kids. Bobbo's right. They went back to making Vegas an adult town.

It's interesting once in a while.....

Excellent golf, if that's your thing.
Try Angel Park, Wildhorse or Summerlin...
