I am not really sure if "Dinner For One" is popular in the US. It's a very old short comedy sketch movie (in English language).

In Germany it is traditionally shown a couple of times on New Year's Eve and it is extremely popular and sort of a "must see" on every New Year's Party.

Some friends and me recently recorded a "new" Version of the sketch for this year's party. If you know the original it might be fun to watch, so for anyone who's interested here's the link:

Have fun!

If you want to keep me in your mind as a good, decent boy, DON'T watch it.

You didn't watch long enough ;) Only the intro is in German. The sketch itself is completely in English. Sorry, I should have said that in my first post.

Edit: Since the intro is in German, here is the story line (I should have thought of that...)

Each winter here in Sarasota, we have the French Film Festival. It's huge hit!
Funny how there's never been a big push for a German film Festival....

I started, and will finish it this evening. It's looking like a LOT of fun! I'm enjoying the goat and the laugh tracks! So far, great job!

Meuti: Haven't seen this version before. However, I don't think this is the original version though. The original version stars a much older butler and a much older lady. Along with this sketch during X-mas, the Swedish TV used to show another British sketch of three guys dancing buck naked covering themselves with only two baloons each. For various reasons the balloons get popped and they try to still each other's balloons. I have been trying to find this sketch in internet a long time without much success.

STK, the version is a self made recording. So no wonder you haven't seen it before :D The other video you're looking for sounds really interesting. I'll try to find it, too.

Cholloway, the German language is anything but romantic lol It might have been a hundred years ago, but if you use words out of this time today it won't take long and you're alone in a nice room with very soft walls wearing a strait jacket :D

Kit, I'm glad you enjoyed it. If you know the original it should be even funnier ;)

It was..... Eating and drinking with friends, both German and American, Love Ausbach, and large boots of beer. You guys did a great job on the show. Herr Aunsbach, Fritz, would have a big party for us all, and since he was just 2 kilometers down the road from our site, we ate there all the time. He would turn shows on the TV all the time and some were just a riot. I loved German Tv when I was there. Learned German by watching Sesame Street on German Tv and Friends and being at Fritz's It's been a long time, would love to go back for a month or two. :)

Have a great day Meuti
