Joined: August 2003 Posts: 396 | I just ran across a picture of one of these. Anyone out there own one or play one? It looks totally cool. I've never seen one close up. Do the pictures do it justice? I'd imagine if they would make this on a special order it would be at a pretty hefty cost.

A 1779 was hanging in our music store for nearly three years, I was tempted but it was way to expensive. Would have been a nice additition. http://www.ovationguitars.com/archive/guitar/1779_usa Best regards, Kurt

The truth of the matter is though, I wouldn't play it any more than my others. They all get equal time in the rotation. But it WOULD be nice to have one to play for the patriotic holidays.

You can tell by the neck inlay, lack of Abalone around the body. You can also see the OP-24+c and battery box. to really appreciate the finish you need to see it reflect light. Here I am playing my 1777-USA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=39mfrxI6280 The 1779-USA was $3599 list The 1777-USA was $3199 list If memory serves. KK looked 2002 for me at one point. DJ Ashba has $635 list. Not hard to see why those sold more.
